About Onx Law
(01) — Get to know us
Onx Law was built by a personal injury lawyer who believed clients deserved a better-run law firm. Monica Washington Rothbaum has spent her career practicing law and working on the systems behind how personal injury cases are evaluated, managed, developed, and resolved. Onx is the culmination of that experience.

Serious legal judgment +a firm built to carry it out.
(02) — The Onx approach
We evaluate personal injury cases and may represent clients directly through Onx. We can also work with, co-counsel with, or refer matters to carefully vetted attorneys when another firm has the geography, specialization, resources, or experience that would better serve the client.

Tell us what happened, in your own words — online or by phone, in English or Spanish. Every case starts with understanding the people involved.

An attorney reviews the facts, the injuries, the insurance, and the law that applies, to determine what your case actually needs.

We put the right legal team and resources around your case. Onx may handle it directly, work with co-counsel, or connect you with carefully vetted counsel whose location, experience, or resources better serve it.

Disciplined case management, data, and technology keep the work organized and moving, while legal judgment sets the strategy — and you’re kept informed along the way.

We pursue the resolution your case supports — through negotiation or, when it’s needed, in court — so you can focus on your recovery.

(03) — Our mission
We believe people should come out of the hardest moments of their lives understood, informed and fairly represented. That promise extends beyond our clients to the communities they live in, through OnxEban, our community funding arm.

(04) — On technology
Technology is important, but technology alone isn’t the answer. What clients feel is the combination: legal judgment, data, systems, training, strategy, and human connection — with accountability and trust kept at the center.
(05) — Managing Attorney
Monica Washington Rothbaum is the Managing Attorney of Onx Law. She began her legal career with clerkships for Justice David H. Souter of the United States Supreme Court and Chief Judge Harry T. Edwards of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit — where she learned the rigor that now goes into evaluating every client’s case.
Before founding Onx Law, she held leadership roles in corporations, law firms, and nonprofit organizations, working across business, operations, public policy, and technology. That experience is why Onx is built the way it is: cases are organized and managed with discipline, technology supports the work without replacing judgment, and clients are kept informed.

“My work has always been about shortening the distance between an injury and the result needed for the injured person. Technology helps, but technology alone isn’t the answer. I combine data, training, case strategy and disciplined process to identify value earlier, eliminate unnecessary delay and give people more time to do the work that requires human judgment.”
